Work is a great way to improve a person's self-worth. Wash And Grow is our training project, using recycling as a tool to help those who find it difficult to find work. There are many smaller projects which make up Wash And Grow, ranging from regular market stalls to help with maths and communication skills, to courses in recycling, computers and photography. Trainees can gain practical experience of using these skills through our online shop.

Our activities include:
Market stall (every other Wednesday at Hebden Bridge Flea Market)
Basic skills tuition (Maths and English)
Recycling arts and crafts

Through our training several people have already progressed to work within Kerbside, from working on the collection rounds to cardboard and paper shredding.

We are always looking for new ideas and imaginative ways to recycle. This could be craft-based ideas such as papier-mache and furniture renovation. If you've got a good idea for re-using or recycling materials contact us and see if we can make it happen.

This was our residential training in September 2008, when we went to stay at Pickwell Manor in North Devon.
